Fine Dining restaurants are called so for a reason. They are indeed expected to provide a fine dining experience. Top notch food, classy atmosphere, a more attentive and detailed customer service compared to casual dining restaurants, usage of high quality material for plates and glassware, usage white colour particularly for the tablecloth, napkins etc. are some of the most important characteristics that make a restaurant a fine dining restaurant. They particularly require a rigorously trained staff. Some even insist on following of certain rules by the customers such as dress codes.

Casual dining restaurants are meant to provide a casual dining experience. Moderately-priced food, availability of a lot of seating, full bar service, separate wine menu, being a part of a popular chain(not necessarily) are some of the things common to a casual dining restaurant. The staff doesn’t require to be as much rigorously trained as the staff in fine dining restaurants. There are further two subcategories in this – buffet-style restaurant and table service restaurant.

Aka fast food restaurants, quick service restaurants(QSR) particularly characterised by fast food cuisine and and limited seating area, a highly limited menu, bulk amounts of food kept prepared in advance, heated on demand, made ready, packed for delivery or takeaways. They are usually found to be a part of popular food chains or franchises.

Bars are for serving alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine, liquor, cocktails, and also non-alcoholic beverages such as softdrinks and water. They even serve snack foods like crisps, peanuts etc. to go with the beverages. Many bars have a discount period, designated a “happy hour” to increase off-peak-time sales.  The term “bar” also refers to the bench and area where drinks are served by the bartenders. There are many types of bars, which can be categorized according to the types of entertainment provided at the bar and by their clientèle.

The term lounge refers to a public room in a hotel, theatre, or club in which you sit and relax. A lounge is normally bigger than a bar, may have a dress code and often charge a “cover” or “door” rate. Lounges often have themes, have much more upscale interior design and have higher drink prices than a bar. Lounges usually have multiple bars and booths and tables for people to “laze around” in and socialize in groups. Lounges may also share other features of a bar.

The hookah parlour (also called a shisha bar or den, especially in Britain and parts of Canada, or a hookah bar) is an place where people share “shisha” from a communal hookah or “nargile” placed at each table. Often, hookah lounges are owned and operated by people from the Arab world, origin and or other regions where use of the hookah is a centuries-old tradition. Many hookah lounges incorporate such elements as Islamic and Arabic music or Indian music.

These are places with a very limited menu and large/limited commercial tools to work with. They provide neither seating facility nor customer facing services. They often tie up with local delivery agencies for deliveries (or hire staff) and take orders online through various websites available or keep a dedicated phone line and take orders via call also.
